Here is a preview

ASVAB

ASVAB which stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, is an exam being used by
the US Military Entrance Processing Command whose purpose is to assess the initial
qualification of a person wishing to join the US Armed Forces

Contrary to common conception, ASVAB score doesnt entirely decide where a person is
qualified to enlist in the Armed Forces or not. Instead, the score a taker will get for
ASVAB is counted toward his AFQT score (Armed Forces Qualifying Test). The overall AFQT
score will determine whether a person is qualified to be part of the US Forces or not.

In addition, the scores a preset gets in several topics of the ASVAB will be used to
determine what occupational specialties and Enlistment bonuses the person is entitled to. The
Armed Forces is made up of many fields and specialized groups working hand in hand, and
being able to get the specific occupation you want will depend on your ASVAB scores.

Four Important ASVAB Areas

ASVAB exam is composed of 10 areas, 4 of which are considered to be the critical areas.
Scores for these fields will be counted and added to the person's overall AFQT score.
